When was Gardena Filipino SDA Church first established and who are they associated with?
Gardena Filipino SDA Church was officially established in 2001. We are officially associated with Seventh Day Adventist Denomination. As a church, we are under the Southern California Adventist Conference which their conference headquarters is based in Glendale - Los Angeles, California.
Who is our Church founder?

Gardena Filipino SDA Church was officially founded by the Late Pastor Jose Dizon Leones, Sr.

Pastor Jose Dizon Leones Sr. born in the Philippines and married in 1951. He graduated with multiple degrees such as Bachelor of Arts in Theology, MA under FED Scholarship, MA in Public Health.

Followed by a honorable Doctor of Divinity Degree by the Federation of Christian Churches located in Monterey, Northern California.

Pastor Jose Dizon Leones, Sr. has been in the SDA ministry for forty plus years from the start of his ordination in 1960 and to the founding of this Gardena Filipino SDA Church in 2001. Throughout his life, Pastor Jose Dizon Leones, Sr. was able to experience other areas in the field such as mission evangelist and pastoral leadership where he lead some many precious souls to christ and into the seventh day adventist denomination.

Pastor Jose Dizon Leones, Sr. ministered in other churches in the Philippines such as: Manila Central SDA Church, Pasay English SDA Church, Manila Center SDA Church, Philippine Union College SDA Church, Baesa SDA Church, Singalong SDA Church, Sta. Ana SDA Church, and Sampaloc SDA Church.
Here in the United States he was involved in SDA churches such as: Central Filipino SDA Church, South Bay Fil-Am SDA Church, Rolling Hills SDA Church, Friendship SDA Church, Sunshine Fil-Am Church, Fil-Am Spanish Church, Carson Fil-Am Church.

The Late Pastor Jose Dizon Leones, Sr. just passed away recently. But, his legacy and influence he has on this church still continues to grow. Most especially, since his son Jose Leones Jr, who is currently the head elder of this church was able to keep the church his father started until now.
